Venetian to Wynn: Walking Distance, Time, and the Best Route via Sands Avenue
Quick Answer
Distance
~0.5 miles (~800 m)
Walking Time
10–15 min typical (5 min bridge-only)
Indoor Connection?
Mostly — bridge over Sands Ave is open-air
Reverse Direction
Same route, same time
Venetian and Wynn sit across Sands Avenue from each other, close enough to see, and the walk takes longer than it looks. The bridge between them is on the Palazzo side, not Venetian — so reaching it means crossing through to Palazzo first, then finding the north-west exit, which is hidden past a row of restaurants.
Most of the route is indoor and air-conditioned. The bridge crossing itself is the only outdoor stretch, and it takes about 5 minutes. Once you know which Palazzo exit to use, this is one of the easier casino-to-casino walks on the Strip.

The Fastest Route (Sands Avenue Bridge)
This is the route most people should take. It keeps you indoors for the bulk of the walk and skips the Sands Avenue traffic entirely.
Starting from Venetian:
- From the Venetian casino floor, head toward Palazzo. The easiest path is through the Grand Canal Shoppes or the connecting walkway near the Palazzo Waterfall Atrium.
- Once on the Palazzo casino floor, head to the north-west corner. The doors out of Palazzo aren't obvious from the casino floor — they sit past a row of restaurants.
- Take the short set of escalators up.
- Exit through Palazzo's north doors onto the elevated pedestrian bridge.
- Cross the bridge over Sands Avenue. The deck is level the entire way.
- The bridge lands at the south side of Wynn, near the Wynn Plaza retail area. Step inside and continue to the Wynn casino floor.
Total time: 10–15 minutes door-to-door at a normal pace. Add 3–5 minutes if you're starting from a far Venetian tower room or heading deeper into Encore Tower Suites on the Wynn side.
Where the bridge comes out
The Sands Avenue pedestrian bridge deposits you on Wynn property at the south esplanade, near the Wynn Plaza retail area. From there, it's a short indoor walk past luxury retail to reach the Wynn casino floor. If your destination is the Encore casino floor or the Encore Tower Suites, plan on another 5–10 minutes through the Esplanade shopping corridor that links Wynn to Encore.
Tower-by-tower starting points
Where you start inside Venetian / Palazzo changes the total walk by 3–5 minutes:
- Palazzo Tower — closest to the bridge. The walk to the north-west exit takes only 3–5 minutes from inside Palazzo.
- Venetian Tower (Venezia or original tower) — you need to cross from Venetian into Palazzo first, which adds 5–7 minutes. Use the connecting walkway near the Grand Canal Shoppes.
- Grand Canal Shoppes area — central to both properties. About 5 minutes to reach the Palazzo north exit from here.
If your route through Venetian and Palazzo feels longer than expected, that's normal — the interior walk through these connected properties often takes more time than the bridge crossing itself. For more on getting around inside, see our Venetian / Palazzo navigation guide.
From the Wynn Side: Going to Venetian
The Sands Avenue bridge works the same in either direction. Starting at Wynn, head toward the south side of the property — the bridge is on the side closest to Sands Avenue and the Wynn Plaza retail area. The reverse walk takes the same 10–15 minutes door-to-door.
Starting from Wynn:
- From wherever you start inside Wynn, head south through the property toward the Wynn Plaza retail area.
- Follow signs for the pedestrian bridge / Palazzo. The bridge entrance is on the south side of the property at the bridge level.
- Cross the bridge over Sands Avenue.
- On the Palazzo side, take the escalators down into Palazzo's north-west casino area.
- Walk south through Palazzo, then continue into Venetian via the Grand Canal Shoppes or the Palazzo Waterfall Atrium walkway.
- You're on the Venetian casino floor.
Total time: 10–12 minutes from the Wynn casino floor. Add 5–10 minutes if you're starting deep in Encore (especially Encore Tower Suites), which requires crossing the Esplanade corridor to reach Wynn first.
Alternative: Strip Sidewalk
You can walk the Strip sidewalk along Las Vegas Boulevard between Venetian and Wynn, but it's slower than the bridge for most starting points. There's no street-level crosswalk at Sands Avenue, so you end up using the same pedestrian bridge anyway — just with more outdoor walking on either side.
The Hard Rock construction site (former Mirage) is across Las Vegas Boulevard and south of Venetian, so it doesn't affect this route. Treasure Island and the Mirage-Treasure Island tram corridor are also on the opposite side of the Strip. Walk south from Wynn along the east-side sidewalk and you stay clear of all current construction.
When to Skip Walking
Most people should just walk it. Consider a rideshare if:
- It's over 105°F. The bridge crossing is outdoor with no shade. Summer afternoons are brutal on the deck.
- You have mobility concerns and the elevator route is unclear. The default Palazzo-side approach uses escalators. If you need the elevator route, ask Palazzo guest services before starting the walk.
- You're running late. If you have a reservation or show in 10 minutes, don't risk it — grab a car.
- You're hauling luggage between properties. The bridge approach involves escalators and a long interior walk through retail. Rideshare drop-off at each property's main porte cochère is faster.
An Uber or Lyft between the two properties takes 5–8 minutes (including pickup time) and costs $8–12 depending on demand. Not worth it in nice weather, but reasonable when it's hot or you're short on time.
The bridge is easy. Finding the Palazzo north exit is the hard part.

The walk is short, but a few landmarks are worth knowing for orientation:
- Grand Canal Shoppes — the indoor shopping promenade with the gondola canal. If you're going from Venetian to Palazzo, you walk near or through this corridor.
- Palazzo Waterfall Atrium — the central rotunda inside Palazzo, useful as an anchor point if you get turned around between the two properties.
- Sands Avenue bridge view — the bridge is high enough to give you a Strip-corridor view in either direction.
- Wynn Plaza — the 70,000-square-foot retail plaza on the south side of Wynn, where the bridge deposits you. Includes luxury shops and dining.
- Lake of Dreams — once inside Wynn, this is the central landmark to use as an anchor for the rest of the property.
Navigating Inside Each Property
The walk between properties is the easy part. The hard part is often getting through Venetian, Palazzo, and Wynn — all three are large enough that you can spend 5+ minutes just finding the right exit or entrance.
For help navigating inside:
- How to Navigate Venetian / Palazzo: connected casinos, Grand Canal Shoppes, Palazzo Waterfall Atrium, where to find the north exit
- How to Navigate Wynn & Encore: two towers, the Esplanade, Lake of Dreams, four hotel lobbies
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a bridge from Venetian to Wynn?
Yes. A pedestrian overpass crosses Sands Avenue between the north side of Palazzo and the south side of Wynn. Because Venetian and Palazzo are interconnected, you walk through Venetian into Palazzo, exit through Palazzo's north doors (north-west corner, past the restaurants), and take the bridge across Sands Avenue to Wynn. The bridge itself is outdoor and uncovered, but the approach through Palazzo is indoor and air-conditioned.
How long does it take to walk from Venetian to Wynn?
Door-to-door, plan on 10–15 minutes from the Venetian casino floor to the Wynn casino floor using the Sands Avenue pedestrian bridge. The bridge crossing itself takes only about 5 minutes, but the bulk of the walk is interior navigation: getting from Venetian through to Palazzo's north exit, then from the Wynn-side bridge landing onto the Wynn casino floor. Starting from a far Venetian tower room or heading deep into Encore can push the total to 20–30 minutes.
How far is Venetian from Wynn?
The properties are separated by Sands Avenue. Door-to-door the walk is roughly 0.5 miles (about 800 meters) using the pedestrian bridge through Palazzo. A straight-line Strip walk down Las Vegas Boulevard is around 0.4 miles but takes longer because there is no street-level crosswalk at Sands Avenue, so you end up using the same bridge anyway.
Can you walk from Venetian to Wynn without going outside?
Almost, but not quite. The walk through Venetian into Palazzo is fully indoor and air-conditioned. The pedestrian bridge over Sands Avenue is open-air, so you are outside for the few minutes of the crossing itself. The Wynn-side landing puts you back into climate-controlled space near the south retail and casino entrance. There is no fully enclosed indoor route between the two properties.
How do I walk from Venetian to Wynn?
Start on the Venetian casino floor. Walk toward Palazzo through the Grand Canal Shoppes or the connecting hallway near the Palazzo Waterfall Atrium. Inside Palazzo, head to the north-west corner of the casino floor, past the restaurants. Take the short set of escalators up. Exit through Palazzo's north doors onto the elevated pedestrian overpass. Cross Sands Avenue on the bridge; it deposits you at the south side of Wynn near the Wynn Plaza retail area. Step inside and continue to the Wynn casino floor. Total walk is 10–15 minutes.
Which Wynn entrance is closest to Venetian?
The south side of Wynn, near the Wynn Plaza retail area, is the closest entrance to Venetian. The Sands Avenue pedestrian bridge lands at this end of the property. From there, the Wynn casino floor is a short walk through the south retail corridor. If you are heading to Encore specifically, expect another 5–10 minutes through the Esplanade once you are inside Wynn.
Is the Venetian-to-Wynn walk accessible by wheelchair?
The interior portions through Venetian and Palazzo are wheelchair- and stroller-accessible, and Wynn's interior is as well. The Sands Avenue bridge approach on the Palazzo side has escalators as the default path, so wheelchair users should ask Palazzo guest services for the elevator route to the bridge level. Once on the bridge itself, the deck is level. If accessibility is a concern, calling the property concierge ahead is the most reliable way to confirm the current elevator route.
