Best Route

Strip walk via Caesars

Venetian and Bellagio are about a mile apart with no direct connection—no tram, no walkway, no shortcut. You're walking the Strip, crossing Flamingo Road, and dealing with crowds. It's one of the longer common walks on the Strip, so set expectations accordingly.

The walk isn't complicated, but it takes longer than most people expect. Plan for 20 minutes minimum, longer if you're walking during peak hours or stopping to look at anything along the way.

The Main Route: South on the Strip

The most straightforward route follows Las Vegas Boulevard south. You'll pass the Hard Rock Las Vegas construction site (formerly The Mirage), cross to Caesars Palace, then cross Flamingo Road to reach Bellagio.

Step by step:

  1. Exit The Venetian through the main entrance (facing the Strip). You'll be on the east side of Las Vegas Boulevard.
  2. Turn right and walk south on the Strip sidewalk. The Hard Rock construction site (formerly The Mirage) will be on your right.
  3. Continue past the construction site. The sidewalk is open but may have temporary barriers or narrowed sections due to construction.
  4. You'll reach the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road. Use the pedestrian bridge to cross to the southwest corner (toward Bellagio).
  5. The bridge deposits you near Caesars Palace and the Bellagio intersection. Continue across the second bridge over Flamingo Road toward Bellagio.
  6. Enter Bellagio through the north entrance (near Via Bellagio) or continue to the main entrance by the fountains.

Total time: 18-25 minutes at a normal walking pace. Add time for crowds, photo stops, or navigating inside each casino at either end.

Alternative: Cut Through Caesars

With The Mirage closed for construction, there's no casino cut-through for the first half of this walk. But once you reach Caesars Palace, you can duck inside to escape the heat.

Caesars cut-through:

  1. Walk the Strip south from Venetian past the Hard Rock construction site.
  2. Enter Caesars Palace through one of its north-facing entrances near The LINQ.
  3. Walk through the Forum Shops or casino floor toward the south side.
  4. Exit near Flamingo Road and use the pedestrian bridge to cross to Bellagio.

This keeps you in air conditioning for the second half of the walk. Casino floors are designed to slow you down, so you might not save time, but you'll save sweat in summer.

The Pedestrian Bridges

You'll use at least one pedestrian bridge on this route—the one crossing Flamingo Road to Bellagio. Here's what to expect:

Flamingo Road bridge: This elevated walkway crosses over Flamingo Road, connecting the Caesars Palace / LINQ area to Bellagio. It has escalators and is covered, though not fully enclosed. The bridge curves, so just follow it—you'll end up at Bellagio.

There's no bridge directly from Venetian to Bellagio. You have to walk down to the Flamingo Road intersection before you can cross to Bellagio's side of the Strip.

When to Skip Walking

At nearly a mile, this is one of the longer Strip walks. Consider alternatives if:

  • It's hot. Summer afternoons on the Strip are brutal—often 105°F+ with no shade on the sidewalks. The walk includes outdoor sections you can't avoid. Take a rideshare.
  • You're short on time. If you have a dinner reservation in 20 minutes, don't risk it. An Uber takes 8-12 minutes including pickup.
  • You have mobility concerns. It's a long walk with some inclines on the pedestrian bridges.
  • It's late at night. The Strip is generally safe, but it's a long walk if you're tired after a show or dinner.

Uber/Lyft between Venetian and Bellagio costs $10-15 depending on demand and takes about 8-12 minutes including pickup time. Worth it when conditions aren't ideal for walking.

What You'll Pass

The walk takes you past some of the Strip's highlights:

  • Hard Rock Las Vegas (construction) — The former Mirage site. A 42-story guitar-shaped hotel tower is rising here, scheduled to open late 2027.
  • The LINQ Promenade — Outdoor shopping and dining corridor, visible across the street. The High Roller observation wheel is at the far end.
  • Caesars Palace — Roman-themed exterior with fountains and statues. You'll walk along its eastern edge.
  • Bellagio Fountains — If you time it right, you'll arrive as the fountains are performing (every 15-30 minutes in the evening).

Breaking Up the Walk

If you're not in a hurry, you can stop along the way:

  • LINQ Promenade — Cross the street if you want to explore the shops or ride the High Roller.
  • Caesars Palace — Cut through the Forum Shops for air conditioning and window shopping.

Just know that “stopping for a minute” on the Strip usually turns into 20+ minutes.

Navigating Inside Each Property

The walk between casinos is straightforward. Getting out of Venetian and finding your destination inside Bellagio—that's where people lose time.

Skip the Guesswork

Casino Compass gives you the full route—from inside the Venetian, down the Strip, and through Bellagio to your final destination. Download before your trip and stop relying on Google Maps estimates that don't account for casino cut-throughs or pedestrian bridge detours.
