Casino Compass, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the Casino Compass mobile application (the “App”).

By downloading, installing, or using our App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.


2. Information We Collect

2.1 Location Data

We request access to your device's location to provide navigation features within casino venues.

Important: Location data is processed in real-time on your device for map positioning and navigation. We do NOT store your location history on our servers. A brief (30-second) local buffer may be used on-device for navigation accuracy; this data is never transmitted. Your precise location stays on your device unless you explicitly contribute to our crowdsourced validation feature.

2.2 Usage Analytics

We collect anonymized usage data to improve the App, including:

  • App interactions (screens viewed, features used, routes requested)
  • Search queries (anonymized, not linked to your identity)
  • Route completion status and navigation patterns
  • App performance metrics and crash reports
  • Feature engagement statistics
  • Session timing and interaction patterns
  • Notification delivery and interaction metrics
  • A/B testing data to improve feature effectiveness

We use A/B testing to optimize the App experience. This means you may see different variations of certain features, and we track which variations perform better. This data is anonymized and not linked to your identity.

This analytics data does NOT include your name, email address, or precise location history.

2.3 Email Address (Optional)

If you choose to sign up for trip reminders or promotional communications, we collect your email address. This is entirely optional and requires your explicit consent. You can unsubscribe at any time through the App settings or by clicking “unsubscribe” in any email.

2.4 Favorites and Preferences

If you enable “Favorites & Memory” in Settings, we store your:

  • Favorited venues and hotspots
  • Recent searches
  • Navigation preferences (e.g., accessibility routing options)
  • AI concierge interaction history

This data is stored on your device only and never leaves your device. You can clear this data at any time in Settings.

2.5 Crowdsourced Validation Data (Optional)

If you choose to participate in our map improvement program, you may submit:

  • Location confirmations (“I was here”)
  • Venue status updates (e.g., “This restaurant is closed”)
  • Hotspot accuracy feedback

Validation submissions may include anonymized context such as route duration, navigation preferences, and general device state to improve accuracy analysis. This data is anonymized and aggregated to improve map accuracy for all users. Participation is entirely voluntary and can be disabled in Settings.

2.6 Gamification Data

If you engage with achievements, badges, and rewards features, we track:

  • Achievement progress and completion status
  • Badge unlocks and XP earned
  • Chip token balance (in-app currency)

This data is stored on your device and used to personalize your experience. Aggregated, anonymized statistics may be used to improve the gamification system.

2.7 Device Information

We automatically collect limited device information:

  • Device type and operating system version
  • App version
  • Anonymous device identifier (for analytics, not advertising)
  • General geographic region (city-level, not precise location)
  • Device motion and accelerometer data (when permission granted) for determining optimal timing for suggestions

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide indoor navigation and wayfinding services
  • Power the “Chip” AI concierge feature with personalized recommendations
  • Improve App functionality based on usage patterns
  • Send trip reminders and updates (only if you opted in)
  • Ensure App stability through crash reporting
  • Improve map accuracy through crowdsourced validation
  • Deliver personalized content based on your preferences
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Analytics Providers

We use the following analytics services to understand App usage:

  • Firebase Analytics (Google): For app performance metrics, crash reporting, and usage analytics
  • Amplitude: For product analytics and feature engagement

These services receive anonymized usage data only. You can disable analytics collection by enabling “Privacy Mode” in Settings > Privacy.

4.2 AI Assistant (Chip)

Our “Chip” AI concierge feature uses OpenAI's API to process your questions and provide personalized recommendations.

What we send to OpenAI:

  • Your question text
  • Current venue context (which casino you're in)
  • Category preferences (e.g., “looking for restaurants”)

What we do NOT send:

  • Your name, email, or account information
  • Your precise location
  • Your device identifier
  • Any personal identifiers

4.3 Affiliate Partners

We partner with third-party services to provide booking and ticketing functionality:

  • OpenTable: For restaurant reservations
  • Ticketmaster: For show and event tickets

When you tap a reservation or ticket button, you will be redirected to the partner's website or app. Once you leave Casino Compass, the partner's privacy policy governs your data. We do not receive your booking details or payment information.

We may receive anonymized, aggregated referral statistics from these partners (e.g., “X users clicked through to make reservations this month”).

4.4 Advertising

We do NOT use advertising tracking networks. We do not sell your data to advertisers or track you across other apps or websites.

In limited cases, we may display contextual advertisements from Google AdMob when no sponsored content or affiliate option is available. These ads are NOT behaviorally targeted based on your personal information. AdMob may collect device-level identifiers according to Google's advertising policies.

You can opt out of personalized ads through your device settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy > Apple Advertising).

4.5 Cloud Infrastructure

Our backend services run on Google Cloud Platform. Data transmitted to our servers (such as anonymized analytics) is protected by Google's enterprise security standards.


5. Sponsored Content

The App may display sponsored venue recommendations and featured partner content. Sponsored content is always clearly labeled with indicators such as “Sponsored,” “Featured Partner,” or similar designations.

Sponsored placement does NOT affect the accuracy of our maps or navigation. Sponsorship data (impressions, taps) is tracked in aggregate and is not linked to your personal identity.


6. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your personal information.

We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

  • Anonymized, Aggregated Data: We may share aggregate statistics with venue partners (e.g., “10,000 users searched for restaurants this month”). This data cannot identify individual users.
  • Service Providers: We share limited data with service providers who help us operate the App (cloud hosting, analytics). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
  • Business Transfers: If Casino Compass, LLC is acquired or merged, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

8.1 Privacy Controls

You can control your privacy directly in the App:

  • Disable “Favorites & Memory”: Stops all on-device data collection
  • Clear History: Delete recent searches and favorites at any time
  • Disable Crowdsourcing: Opt out of map improvement contributions
  • Disable Chip AI: Turn off the AI concierge feature
  • Unsubscribe from Emails: Stop promotional communications
  • Reset Preferences: Clear all personalization data

8.2 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect about you
  • Delete your personal information
  • Opt out of the sale of personal information (we don't sell data)
  • Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information

8.3 European Users (GDPR)

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information:

  • All data transmissions are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
  • API keys and credentials are stored securely in device Keychain
  • Sensitive data is not stored on external servers
  • We conduct regular security reviews of our code and infrastructure
  • Access to backend systems is restricted and logged
  • We use industry-standard cloud security practices (Google Cloud Platform)

While we take security seriously, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.


10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@casinocompassapp.com and we will delete it promptly.


11. International Data Transfers

If you access the App from outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers are located. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

For EU users, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission for data transfers to the United States.


12. Do Not Track

The App does not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals because we do not track users across third-party websites. Our tracking is limited to within the App for analytics purposes.


13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

  • Updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy
  • Displaying a notice in the App
  • Sending an email notification (if you've provided your email)

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Privacy Policy.
