Bellagio to Aria: Walking Route, Free Tram, and Tips

5 min read|Last updated: April 2026

Quick Answer

Distance

~0.3 miles

Walking Time

5-10 minutes

Best Method

Via Vdara (mostly indoor)

Difficulty

Easy

Bellagio and Aria are not directly connected, but you can walk between them in 5-10 minutes or ride a free tram. Vdara sits between the two properties. The covered walkway from Bellagio through Vdara plus a short uncovered path to Aria is the fastest route. The Aria Express tram (8am-2am) is the air-conditioned alternative.

One thing to know up front: there is no single indoor walkway that runs all the way from Bellagio to Aria. The Bellagio ↔ Vdara segment is covered, but the Vdara ↔ Aria segment is open-air for about two minutes. In hot, cold, or rainy weather the tram is the better call.

Best Route: Through Vdara (Recommended)

This is the fastest way to walk from Bellagio to Aria, and it works 24/7. The Bellagio side is fully covered, and the Vdara-to-Aria stretch is short.

  1. Find the Vdara walkway from Bellagio. From the Bellagio casino floor, head toward the back of the property (away from the Strip and the fountains). Follow signs for Vdara or the spa. The walkway runs along the south side of Bellagio.
  2. Cross the covered bridge to Vdara. The bridge is enclosed and runs over the Aria Express tram tracks. The walk from the Bellagio casino floor to Vdara's elevators takes about 5 minutes.
  3. Walk through Vdara toward Aria. From the Vdara elevators, head out the south side of the lobby. The walkway to Aria is signed.
  4. Cross to Aria. The Vdara-to-Aria path is uncovered but short — about 2-3 minutes. You'll come out near Aria's pool deck and the Sky Suites lobby.
  5. Navigate to your destination inside Aria.

Total time: 5-10 minutes depending on which side of Bellagio you start from. Bellagio is a long building, so if you're entering from the Strip, add 3-5 minutes just to cross the casino floor.

Alternative: Aria Express Tram

The free Aria Express tram (formerly called the CityCenter Tram) runs from a station at the back of Bellagio to a station above The Shops at Crystals, which empties directly into Aria. The cars are air-conditioned and the ride takes a couple of minutes.

  1. Walk to the Bellagio tram station. The station is at the back (west) of the property. From the Bellagio casino floor, follow signs for the tram or for Vdara — the tram station is right by the Vdara walkway. This walk inside Bellagio takes 5-7 minutes on its own.
  2. Board a southbound tram. Trams arrive every 6-8 minutes. The platform serves both directions, so check the destination signage before boarding.
  3. Get off at the CityCenter / Crystals station. This is the middle stop. The station sits above The Shops at Crystals and is the closest stop to Aria — exit toward Aria, not toward Park MGM (which is the third stop further south).
  4. Walk into Aria. From the CityCenter station, signs point you down to Aria's casino entrance. It's about a 2-minute walk through Crystals.

Aria Express Tram Details

  • Cost: Free
  • Hours: 8am–2am daily
  • Frequency: Every 6-8 minutes
  • Stops (north to south): Bellagio/Vdara → CityCenter/Crystals (next to Aria) → Park MGM
  • Length: 2,034 feet end-to-end (about 0.4 miles)

The ride is fast, but the walk inside Bellagio to reach the station takes longer than most people expect. If you're already near the Spa Tower or the south side of the property, the tram is a clear win. If you're entering from the Strip, walking through Vdara is roughly the same total time. Alternative: Through Cosmopolitan and Crystals

There's a third option that takes longer but is mostly indoor and gives you something to look at along the way. Bellagio connects to Cosmopolitan via a covered walkway, and Cosmopolitan connects to Aria through The Shops at Crystals.

  1. Exit Bellagio toward Las Vegas Boulevard. Walk to the front of Bellagio near the main entrance and the porte-cochère.
  2. Take the covered walkway to Cosmopolitan. A pedestrian bridge crosses over Harmon Ave from Bellagio's south side. There's an escalator down at the end. The walkway is covered the whole way.
  3. Cut through Cosmopolitan. From Cosmopolitan's casino floor, head toward The Shops at Crystals. It's on the second level, accessed via the Cosmopolitan-Crystals connector.
  4. Walk through Crystals to Aria. Crystals empties directly into Aria — exit by Todd English P.U.B. and follow the corridor into Aria.

Total time: 10-15 minutes. Slower than the Vdara route, but worth it if you want to browse Crystals or grab food at Cosmopolitan along the way. This is also the route to take if the Vdara walkway is closed for an event.

When to Skip Walking

  • After 2am. The Aria Express tram stops running at 2am. You can still walk through Vdara 24/7, but if you have luggage or it's late and quiet, a $6-8 rideshare from Bellagio's valet to Aria's main entrance takes about 4 minutes.
  • Heavy luggage. The walk through Bellagio to reach either the Vdara walkway or the tram station is long, with multiple turns and changes in level. If you're hauling bags, a rideshare door-to-door is much easier.
  • Bellagio fountain show timing. Crowds along the front of Bellagio during fountain shows can slow you down significantly if you're cutting through the lobby. Either go around through the back or wait out the show.
  • Mobility concerns. The full Vdara route covers 0.3 miles across multiple buildings with limited seating. The tram is more comfortable, but the walk inside Bellagio to reach the station is the same. A rideshare is the most accessible option.

Common Mistakes

  • Looking for a tram station near Bellagio's main entrance. The Aria Express station is at the back of Bellagio, on the opposite side from Las Vegas Boulevard. Plan on a 5-7 minute walk inside Bellagio before you board.
  • Confusing the CityCenter station with the Park MGM station. The tram has three stops. The middle stop (CityCenter / Crystals) is the one for Aria. If you stay on past it, you'll end up at Park MGM and have to ride back. Listen for the announcement or watch for the Crystals signage.
  • Trying to walk through Aria's convention center. Aria's convention center is on the south side of the property, behind the casino. It's often confused with the main entrance. The Vdara walkway brings you in near the pool deck and Sky Suites lobby, not the convention center.
  • Assuming Google Maps walking time is accurate. Google Maps measures door-to-door distance and doesn't account for the time it takes to cross either casino floor. A 4-minute walk on Google Maps is realistically 8-10 minutes once you account for the indoor distance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Bellagio connected to Aria?

Not directly. Bellagio and Aria are separate properties with Vdara sitting between them. You can walk between them in 5-10 minutes through Vdara (covered walkway from Bellagio to Vdara, short uncovered path from Vdara to Aria) or ride the free Aria Express tram from the Bellagio station to the CityCenter/Crystals station next to Aria.

How long does it take to walk from Bellagio to Aria?

5-10 minutes through Vdara, depending on which Bellagio entrance you start from. The walk from the Vdara elevators to the Bellagio casino floor alone takes about 5 minutes, plus a 2-3 minute walk from Vdara to Aria. The Aria Express tram takes 6-8 minutes including the wait, but you have to walk to the back of Bellagio to reach the tram station first.

Where is the Bellagio tram station?

The Aria Express tram station at Bellagio is at the back (west side) of the property, away from the Strip and the casino floor. From the casino floor, follow signs for the tram or for Vdara — it's a 5-7 minute walk inside Bellagio just to reach the station. The tram runs between Bellagio, the CityCenter station above Crystals (next to Aria), and Park MGM.

Is the Aria Express tram free?

Yes. The Aria Express (formerly the CityCenter Tram) is free. It runs daily from 8am to 2am, with trams arriving every 6-8 minutes. The system has three stations: Bellagio/Vdara, CityCenter (above The Shops at Crystals, next to Aria), and Park MGM.

Can I walk from Bellagio to Aria through Cosmopolitan?

Yes, but it's longer than the Vdara route. Exit Bellagio's main entrance, take the covered walkway and escalator down to Cosmopolitan, walk through Cosmopolitan to its connection with The Shops at Crystals, then walk through Crystals to Aria. Total time is about 10-15 minutes. This route is mostly indoor and good if you want to browse shops along the way.
