How to Navigate The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas: Layout, Directions, and Tips

6 min read|Last updated: April 2026

Quick summary: The Cosmopolitan has two hotel towers — Boulevard Tower on the Strip and Chelsea Tower set behind it — sharing one casino base. The gaming floor is on Level 1, with restaurants, retail, Marquee, and the Block 16 food hall stacked on Levels 2 and 3. The three-story Chandelier bar is the property's central landmark. A covered walkway on Level 2 connects directly to Vdara and Bellagio, no street crossing required.

The Cosmopolitan packs a 100,000-square-foot casino, 3,033 rooms across two towers, restaurants and retail stacked on the upper floors, multiple pool decks at different elevations, a 65-foot crystal-encased bar, a hidden pizza counter, and a covered walkway to two neighboring resorts onto a footprint smaller than its neighbors. Most Strip casinos sprawl outward. The Cosmopolitan stacks upward, and that's what trips up first-time visitors.

Once you know which tower has what and use The Chandelier as your anchor, the rest falls into place. Here's how it's organized.

How The Cosmopolitan Is Laid Out

The Cosmopolitan is organized around two hotel towers and three main public-facing levels. The towers share a single casino base; the differences between them shape everything from where you check in to where your rideshare picks up.

Boulevard Tower (East). The tower along Las Vegas Boulevard, directly on the Strip. This side holds the Chandelier bar, Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub, the sportsbook, the Boulevard Pool, the Wraparound Terrace suites with private balconies, and most of the property's restaurants. If a guidebook names a Cosmopolitan amenity, it's probably here.

Chelsea Tower (West). The tower set behind Boulevard Tower, further from the Strip. Chelsea is the quieter side and holds the operational core: the main front desk, the Chelsea Theater, the Bamboo Pool, the rooftop Chelsea Pool on Level 14, and the rideshare pickup zone. You'll usually check in on the Chelsea side and walk over to Boulevard for nearly everything else.

Level 1 — Casino Floor. Ground level, accessible from the Strip and from the West Harmon Avenue porte cochère. This is where the gaming lives: roughly 100,000 square feet, around 1,300 slot machines, and 80-plus table games. The bottom of The Chandelier sits in the middle of the gaming floor on this level. The front desk on the Chelsea Tower side is also here.

Level 2 — Restaurants, Marquee, and the Bellagio Walkway. Up one escalator from the casino floor. This level holds Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub, the Block 16 Urban Food Hall, several sit-down restaurants, the second tier of The Chandelier, and the Level 2 entrance to the covered walkway connecting to Vdara and Bellagio. Most reservations and most everyday navigation happens on this level.

Level 3 — Upper Restaurants and Secret Pizza. Up another escalator. More dining: Jaleo, Blue Ribbon Sushi, and the unmarked corridor that hides Secret Pizza between them. The top of The Chandelier finishes here as its quietest level. Most visitors miss Level 3 entirely; it's worth the trip just to see The Chandelier from the top.

The Chandelier. The property's central landmark: a 65-foot crystal-encased structure spanning three levels of its own. The bottom sits on the casino floor, the middle is a cocktail lounge, the top is the most intimate of the three. The public space flows around it on every floor. When you're lost, walk toward The Chandelier and reset from there.

Finding What You Need

Hotel Check-In and Elevators

The main front desk is on the Chelsea Tower (west) side of Level 1, past the casino from the Strip-side entrance. After you check in you'll be directed to either the Boulevard Tower elevators or the Chelsea Tower elevators — they're separate banks at opposite ends of the property and they don't connect inside the towers. The Wraparound Terrace suites are exclusive to Boulevard Tower and offer the best views of the Bellagio fountains; Chelsea Tower rooms generally face west toward the mountains or the pool deck. Always check which tower your reservation is in before stepping into an elevator car.

Restaurants

Most restaurants are on Levels 2 and 3, with a handful on Level 1. Block 16 Urban Food Hall on Level 2 (Boulevard Tower side) collects grab-and-go counters from cult favorites like Lardo, District:Donuts, Pok Pok Wing, and Ghost Donkey. Sit-down options like Estiatorio Milos, Zuma, and Scarpetta sit on Level 2; Jaleo, Blue Ribbon Sushi, and Secret Pizza on Level 3. Holsteins, Eggslut, and a few quick-service spots are on Level 1 around the casino floor. Always confirm both the level and the side before you start walking. A wrong floor here costs more time than a wrong direction at most other casinos.

Restrooms

Casino-floor restrooms are near The Chandelier on Level 1. Additional restrooms are tucked behind the restaurants on Level 2 and near Jaleo on Level 3. The Chandelier-adjacent options on Level 1 are the most reliable to find regardless of where you are on property.

Pools and Day Club

The Cosmopolitan has multiple pool areas spread across different levels and towers. Boulevard Pool sits on Level 4 of Boulevard Tower, an open-air deck with a direct view of the Bellagio fountains. Marquee Dayclub is on Level 2 of Boulevard Tower with two outdoor pools, private cabanas, and an enclosed dome venue that runs year-round. Bamboo Pool is the quieter option on the Chelsea Tower side. Chelsea Pool is the rooftop space on Level 14 atop Chelsea Tower. Each pool is reached from a different part of the property, so confirm which one before you get in an elevator.

Entertainment and Shows

The Chelsea Theater is the main 3,200-seat concert venue, located on the Chelsea Tower side. Most major residencies and touring acts play here. Marquee Nightclub on Level 2 of Boulevard Tower hosts headlining DJs Friday through Sunday with lines that wrap around the casino floor on busy nights. Plan your route through the property assuming the Marquee line might block your usual path on weekend nights.

Shopping

The Cosmopolitan's retail is concentrated on Level 2 along the corridor that runs between the Strip-side entrance and the new Bellagio/Vdara walkway. Brands lean fashion-forward and skew younger than Caesars or Wynn retail. The Conservatory and Botanical Gardens at Bellagio sit just a few minutes away through the walkway if you want to combine shopping with sightseeing.

Exits and Rideshare Pickup

The Strip-side entrance on Level 1 puts you out near the Las Vegas Boulevard sidewalk between Bellagio and CityCenter. The West Harmon porte cochère handles valet and walk-up rideshare on the back side of the property, off the Strip. The dedicated rideshare zone is in the parking garage at the back of the property on the Chelsea Tower side — from the casino floor, walk past the front desk and follow the marked corridor through retail to the garage. Look for the Rideshare Pickup signs. The Bellagio/Vdara walkway on Level 2 is your indoor shortcut to the rest of the central Strip without dealing with traffic lights.

Common Navigation Mistakes

Treating it like a one-floor casino. Most Strip properties cluster restaurants and amenities on a single level near the gaming floor. The Cosmopolitan stacks them. A reservation on Level 2 or 3 isn't findable from Level 1; you have to take an escalator. Check the level along with the restaurant name before you start walking.

Taking the wrong tower's elevator. Boulevard and Chelsea elevator banks sit at opposite ends of the property and don't connect inside the towers. Stepping into the wrong one means coming back down to Level 1 and walking across the casino. Confirm your tower before you step into a car.

Walking past Secret Pizza. The Level 3 hallway between Jaleo and Blue Ribbon Sushi has no sign, no menu, and no indication that anything is back there. Visitors walk past it constantly. Look for the corridor lined with framed vinyl records and walk to the end. Note the door is sealed before 11 a.m.

Defaulting to the porte cochère for rideshare. The West Harmon porte cochère backs up badly on busy nights, especially during Marquee events. The dedicated rideshare zone in the back garage is faster, indoors, and easier to coordinate with your driver.

Getting to Nearby Casinos

To Bellagio: Take the Level 2 covered walkway, which opened in late 2023 and connects The Cosmopolitan, Vdara, and Bellagio. About 5 to 8 minutes door to door, climate-controlled the whole way. The walkway entrance at The Cosmopolitan is near the Wicked Spoon area on Level 2. This is one of the most useful Strip shortcuts and a major reason The Cosmopolitan's position on the central Strip is so convenient.

To Aria and CityCenter: The same Level 2 walkway also routes through Vdara, which connects directly to Aria via the Vdara-to-Aria corridor. Total walk is about 8 to 12 minutes indoors. Or take the Strip sidewalk — same time, less air conditioning. The CityCenter Tram from Crystals runs to Bellagio and Park MGM if you're continuing north or south.

To Caesars Palace: Take the walkway to Bellagio, walk through Bellagio's Conservatory, and use the pedestrian bridge from Bellagio across Flamingo Road to Caesars. Total walk is 15 to 20 minutes indoor-to-indoor with one short outdoor crossing. Faster than the Strip sidewalk in summer. For more on outdoor walking distances on the Strip, see our guide to walking the Las Vegas Strip.

To Vdara: The Level 2 walkway includes a direct entrance into Vdara, roughly 3 to 5 minutes from The Cosmopolitan side. Vdara has no casino, but it's a useful shortcut on busy weekends and a quieter cut-through to Aria. For more options, see our guide to getting around Las Vegas.

Navigation Tips

The Chandelier is your compass. It runs through Levels 1, 1.5, and 2 in the center of the property and is visible from most of the gaming floor. When you're disoriented, walk toward The Chandelier, find an escalator, and use the level you're on plus its position to reset your bearings.

Pick your level before you walk. The fastest mistake to make at The Cosmopolitan is wandering on the wrong floor. Check the level of your destination — restaurant, shop, theater entrance — before you start moving, then take an escalator near The Chandelier first.

Use the Bellagio walkway as a circulation tool. When the casino floor is packed during a Marquee night or a Chelsea Theater show, the Level 2 walkway is often the fastest way to bypass the crowd by looping out toward Vdara or Bellagio and back. The fountains as you cross are a free bonus.

The back-garage rideshare zone is the answer. If you're leaving in a hurry, skip the porte cochère queue and request your driver to the dedicated rideshare zone in the parking garage on the Chelsea Tower side. It's indoors, less crowded, and your driver doesn't have to fight the valet line.

Boulevard Tower for the Strip view, Chelsea Tower for the rest. If you're booking a room and the view matters, Boulevard Tower is the side aligned with the Bellagio fountains. If you're booking and the front-desk experience matters more, Chelsea Tower is closer to check-in and rideshare. Knowing this in advance saves you a long walk on arrival.
