Park MGM Las Vegas: Map, Layout, and Why It Isn't MGM Grand

Park MGM is not MGM Grand. They share an operator and four letters, and that is the whole of the relationship. Park MGM sits on the west side of Las Vegas Boulevard between New York-New York and CityCenter; MGM Grand is the green-glass tower on the east side at Tropicana Avenue, about two-thirds of a mile away. Getting from one to the other means crossing the Strip and walking 10 to 15 minutes. If you booked one and turned up at the other, you are not the first.

Once you are in the right building, Park MGM is one of the easier resorts on the Strip to navigate: a single 32-story tower, one casino floor, and almost everything worth finding arranged along one axis. It is also the only smoke-free casino resort on the Strip, which for a lot of people is the reason to be here at all.

Park MGM vs MGM Grand: Settling It Properly

This is the single most common Park MGM mistake, and it is expensive if you make it on arrival with luggage. They are not adjacent, not connected, and not walkable in the casual sense.

The practical upshot: the free Aria Express tram does not serve MGM Grand. People are told “take the tram from MGM” constantly and it is wrong — the tram station is inside Park MGM, and reaching it from MGM Grand is the 10 to 15 minute cross-Strip walk first. The Smoke-Free Casino

On September 30, 2020 the property reopened as a smoke-free resort, and it has held the line since. It remains the only casino resort on the Las Vegas Strip where the gaming floor itself is smoke-free — not a designated area, the whole floor.

If you have asthma, travel with kids, or simply find Strip casino floors unpleasant, this is the property that solves it, and it is worth routing through even when you are staying elsewhere. Because Aria connects under cover, you can get here without stepping outside or crossing a smoking floor to do it.

Park MGM Layout: One Tower, One Axis

One hotel tower, one casino floor. That alone makes this a simpler property to read than most of its neighbours — orient yourself on a single line running from the Strip entrance in the east to the back of the building in the west, and almost everything falls into place.

The main floor, front to back

• Strip entrance (east): the porte cochere and main doors face Las Vegas Boulevard.
• Casino floor (centre): about 76,982 square feet, smoke-free, with the hotel front desk and tower elevators off it. That is small by Strip standards, which is the practical reason this property is quick to cross when its neighbours are not.
• Eataly (Strip side): the Italian market and food hall doubles as the property's most useful landmark — it runs along the Strip-facing side and is the easiest thing to navigate by.
• Dolby Live and the tram (north / back): the 5,200-seat theater and the Aria Express tram platform are both toward the back on the north side.
• The Park and T-Mobile Arena (west): the outdoor promenade runs from the back of the property to the arena.

The Reserve at Park MGM (formerly NoMad)

Occupying the top four floors of the tower is a 293-room boutique hotel-within-a-hotel, with its own lobby, restaurant, bar and small casino. It opened as NoMad Las Vegas in 2018 and was renamed The Reserve at Park MGM on December 17, 2025.

The renaming went all the way down. That matters if you are following older directions or a friend's recommendation: the NoMad Pool is now the Terrace Pool, the NoMad Bar is the Reserve Bar, the NoMad Library is the Library, and the NoMad Casino is The Reserve Casino. Same spaces, same floors — new signage.

Getting Around: Entrances, Parking, and the Tram

Self-parking and valet

Self-parking is an 11-story garage immediately west of the resort. Both the garage and valet are reached only from Park Avenue, which you can enter either from Las Vegas Boulevard or from Frank Sinatra Drive on the west side.

Plan around this one. The Strip-side entrance to Park Avenue is sometimes closed during T-Mobile Arena events, so on a concert or Golden Knights night you want to approach from Frank Sinatra Drive rather than discovering the closure while queuing to turn in off the Boulevard. Self-parking is paid. Rates vary by day and by what is on at the arena, so check the operator for current pricing.

The Aria Express tram

This is the southern terminus of the free Aria Express, so every tram leaving here runs north. You will find the platform at the back of the property on the north side, toward Dolby Live — budget a few minutes to cross the casino floor from the Strip entrance.

• One stop — Crystals, next to Aria (~2.5 minutes)
• Two stops — Bellagio / Vdara, the northern end (~6 minutes total)

Rideshare

Rideshare pickup is off Park Avenue with the rest of the vehicle traffic, which means it inherits the same event-night congestion. On arena nights, walking north to Aria and getting picked up there is often faster than waiting for a car to reach you.

Connections to Other Casinos

To Aria (north) — indoors, 3 to 5 minutes

To T-Mobile Arena (west) — via The Park

The Park is the outdoor dining and entertainment promenade running from the back of Park MGM to the arena, about 0.3 miles. This is the property's real strategic advantage: on an event night you are a short covered-ish walk from the doors while everyone else is in Boulevard traffic.

To New York-New York (south)

New York-New York is the immediate neighbour to the south, reachable along The Park or the Strip sidewalk in a few minutes.

To Bellagio (north) — ride the tram past Aria

Stay on the Aria Express past the Crystals stop and the next station is Bellagio/Vdara, roughly 6 minutes from Park MGM. Far easier than walking the Boulevard.

To MGM Grand (east) — the long way

Across the Strip and about two-thirds of a mile south: exit toward New York-New York, cross Las Vegas Boulevard on the pedestrian bridge, and continue to MGM Grand. Allow 10 to 15 minutes, most of it outdoors.

Wheelchair, scooter, and stroller access

Park MGM is comparatively easy going on this front, because the layout does most of the work: one tower, one casino floor, and a compact footprint mean far fewer level changes than at multi-tower neighbours. The Strip-side porte cochere is step-free, and the enclosed walkway to Aria avoids kerbs, crossings and weather entirely, which makes it the better choice over the tram for wheeled access.

Two things are worth confirming on arrival rather than assuming. The Aria Express platform sits on elevated guideway, so reaching it means escalators or a lift — ask an attendant which lifts are in service before committing to the tram, particularly late at night. And the self-parking garage is 11 storeys, so lift availability matters more here than at a low-rise garage; if lifts are down, valet off Park Avenue is the fallback. The Park promenade out to T-Mobile Arena is at-grade and step-free, but it is fully outdoors, so factor in heat and event-night crowding.

Common Navigation Mistakes

• Booking Park MGM and arriving at MGM Grand. The names are the trap. Check which side of the Strip your rideshare is heading for before it moves.
• Looking for the tram at the Strip entrance. The Aria Express platform is at the back of the property by Dolby Live, not the front. Walk through the casino floor, not around the building.
• Trying to turn onto Park Avenue from the Boulevard on an event night. That entrance can be closed. Come in from Frank Sinatra Drive.
• Following NoMad signage or directions. It has been The Reserve at Park MGM since December 2025 — same floors, new names throughout.
• Assuming the tram runs late. It generally stops around 2am. After that the enclosed Aria walkway is the 24-hour option.
